Founded in 1913 in New York by brothers Irving and Jack Schott, two sons of Russian immigrants, the Schott company produces textile and leather clothing. At the beginning of its history, Schott specialized in the manufacture of rain gear, but creating the famous Perfecto jacket in 1928 is what made this company world famous. Subsequently, other leather jackets completed the Schott collection, as well as nylon bomber jackets and coats. Still made in the same American factory, the Schott Perfecto leather jacket has become a mythical article of clothing associated with rock-n-roll, bad boy style, and in France, associated with black jackets before being included in traditional fashion or the collections of great designers like Yves Saint Laurent. In 2014, Schott leather jackets are still trendy; the quality of leather used and their timeless design give them a smart style that is just a little bit rock-n-roll.
