Semra Woven Trunk natural LA REDOUTE INTERIEURS

Very nice looking chest finished in a warm brown tone that I like very much. The chest is well made, woven on to robust wooden frames. The base is plywood fixed to a wooden framework. The whole thing is quite heavy. I noted complaints about the difficulty of putting it together before I bought it, but liked the look of it so much that I thought I would give it a go. The whole thing arrives in a rather awkwardly shaped box with the back and lid already hinged together. Putting it together involves locating and screwing home sixteen hexagonal screws, (hex key provided). It can be a little difficult to locate the holes among the weaving, but on the whole, thought it pretty easy to put together. Well pleased.

I’m returning it as doesn’t meet my needs. But good storage box if you have the space. It is very big and quite heavy. Darker than in photo. Slight mouldy smell, maybe had been left outside before they delivered it? I

This was the worst self-assembly item I've ever build! The screws didn't align with any of the holes, a couple were were 1cm away. Two of the other holes were also covered by the woven material, which made it hard to screw in. It took me about 3 hours trying to shift things slightly to get all the screws in. In the end I gave up, I have one screw missing which won't align with the hole at all if the other screws are in and another screw sticking out at the back which I can't screw in any further. Awful!

If I’d had known it came flat pack I wouldn’t have bought it! The trouble it took to put together was not worth the effort. I couldn’t put all the screws in as the holes didn’t line up. Not great..but at least if it came made would have saved me an hour of my life!

I bought this as a toy store for my grandchildren and also as an extra seat to sit on for a small living room. Very sturdy once put together but was a challenge to get it to fit together correctly. On the Whole pleased with purchase

My husband had to make some massive adjustments including sawing off part of the base and creating new screw holes to put it together. Don’t bother buying unless you’re prepared to get creative and you have tools!

One star just for the person who helped me return this over the phone. Purchased this as I thought an expensive item such as this would be reliable. Massive mistake. Screws do not align and will not go in the holes. We tried everything. Avoid this.
